Best Memory Cache Size

What are your experiences with this setting. First I had 64 MB with my 768 MB Ram, then 256, this made the System somewhat sluggish and now I have 128 MB. What are you settings with your RAM-Size?

Or is there any "rule", like a third of your RAM or a quarter?

I'm running GE at 32mb cache with 512mb RAM.
