Hi,
as an Linux-user I can't use Google Earth, so I've hacked a small script that is able to show Placemarks from .kmz files via Google Maps Api. The script runs here: http://maps.daemlich.net/ Because I'm unable to create some real kmz/kml files i would be happy to get some testing on this. So, anyone who who has some time and likes to play around a bit just paste an url to some .kmz file (like http://maps.daemlich.net/multi.kmz) into the URL-Box and hit "Go". The script should add markers on the map and fill the select-box with all placemarks from your .kmz. If a file does not work, make sure it contains a placemark and feel free to mail it to ne-geh@nicoerfurth.de It would also be nice if you can provide me with some advanced .kmz files, maybe with overlays or whatever GoogleEarth supports. ![]() This script is very beta, so it may break on some input. TIA, Nico |

Seems like it's not always parsing the <name> and <description> fields into the text box.
Other than that, very cool. I like it. |

Thanks for testing!
@ink_polaroid: do you have some sample file that triggers the parsing problem? And, which browser do you use? This thing is largely JS-based and i could only test it with FireFox/Linux. Nico |
