Default Huge data update in Google Earth

A huge update for Google Earth was pushed out last night, which gives high-res images to a variety of new places.

In the United States: California, Connecticut, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Maine, Montana, New Hampshire, New Mexico, North Carolina and Texas all have seen some updates.

Other countries updated include: Austria, Belgium, Germany, Japan, The Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Puerto Rico.

Feel free to leave comments in this thread as you discover more updated areas, or check out this post at gEarthBlog.com for more details.

It's just one step closer to the 100% High Resolution Globe.

I'm not entirely sure, but looking at India, it seems there is even more hi res now. If I'm not mistaken, it too should be on the list of updated countries.

Default New York State Update

You also forgot to mention that there updates in New York State too. I live in Western New York State and my hometown has been updated as long as the surrounding cities and towns.

Hehe... This means more files from me. *Evil grin*

Moderators are gonna me.

(Here...I'll compromise....for every file I upload today, I'll approve/deny double that number).

Default 100%

It looks like The Netherlands now has 100% high resolution. One benefit of living in a small country, I guess...

That just might be a first actually (not counting really small countries like Monaco, the Vatican and Saint Kitts and Nevis...) I've done a quick scan, and at least close by smaller countries like Belgium and Denmark are not there yet.

What's up with the outskirts of Austin, Texas. It's all really blurry and seems a waste to look at. And if it's a new form of censoring, which it most likely isn't (its just residential areas and woods), it's a big waste...

i hear what you're saying (if your referring to the grey outskirts) but its still a higher-res than the green bits surrounding it.
so it probably is better now.

Not only in high resolution, the picture of the area I live are also very resent.
I can see the mini-round-abouts built only last year.

This sucks...around 5-6 of my files (unapproved) no longer exist because of this update. I had some cool placemarks, and in the update, the quality went DOWN. That just sucks....

Sometimes I really hate you google.....

Or my bad luck....

Quality went down? That's bizarre. Did we loose any cool things?
