This is a discussion thread for the following file:

Main GEH Network Link

This is a network link file that works dynamically based on where you are in Google Earth. When this network link is active, it will show you all of the placemarks on Google Earth Hacks that are in the area of the world which you are currently viewing.

Specifically, it will show the 100 newest files that we have on our site which are visible within your viewing window.

Please note that if you are zoomed out too far, it won't return any results.

This in fact a coal fired power station, near Nottingham, close to the River Trent, from which it obtains cooling water.

Hi everybody

actually i make site for google earth look like bbs but only for france
but i have a little probleme i don't know how to do refresh link who only show what people see in goolge earth can you help me

This network link does not show any collections of placemarks (folders)...

True. Is there a way to fix that and make it include this? (mostly 2 mickey cause I have NO idea how to make network links).

Ok. So you added this cool thumbnail idea where it shows the username's avatar for each item. It's an awesome idea, but its broken. When you go to edit any of the placemarks (right click + edit), the edit window fails to show up, so you can't close the window. You lose access to all the menus, and you must either restart GE, or after a few seconds, a window saying, "The feature being edited has been destroyed," appears.
Edit: Nevermind, was a glitch on my GE. Works better now that I've restarted it a few times.

Also, instead of having a blank gray spot for those users without avatars, I would suggest you display the GEH avatar for those files.

Otherwise, neat job.

I was wondering why I kept seeing those gray squares, couldn't figure it out. I had to find an icon from a "known" member's file before I understood.

Ditto to the "awesome idea" comment and ditto to something besides a gray box for those without avatars. What if we just gave everybody without an avatar the GEH logo?

For some reason when I open this file up, Google Earth tells me it's an empty kml file.

Very strange. I just replaced it in the admin panel and it's working now, though I have no idea what caused it to happen...
