#3 - Weather

The ability to view real-time weather in Google Earth can be quite useful. While GE doesn't yet support animated GIFs (and therefore time-lapsed radar), Version 4 now supports some time features which should allow for even better weather maps in the near future. Here is a sample of what's available already:

Global Infrared Satellite Images (download)
This download has a handful of overlapped overlays that cover much of the earth. The overlays are automatically updated every three hours.

Weather Channel Satellite Mosaic (download)
A more standard-looking collection of satellite images, this one is updated much more often and covers most of the earth.

Live Radar - Germany (download)
This radar image shows current rain/snow and is updated every 15 minutes.

Current US Temperatures (download)
This series of overlays show the current temperatures for major cities in the United States.
