Alpine Valley Music Theater

Alpine Valley Music Theater, a 35,300-seat outdoor amphitheater located not in East Troy but in the neighboring Town of Lafayette, Walworth County, Wisconsin. The theater was built in 1977. The covered portion affords protected seating for 9,000 concert-goers.

Acts such as Jimmy Buffett, Steve Martin, the Doobie Brothers, Ozzfest, the Grateful Dead, Dave Matthews Band, Aerosmith and scores of others have performed at "Alpine". For each of the last several years Alpine Valley Music Theater has also made its stage available for a performance by the East Troy Community Band.

Following his performance at this venue, blues guitarist Stevie Ray Vaughn was killed along with 4 others on August 26, 1990. The helicopter in which they were passengers slammed into one of the nearby ski hills of the Alpine Valley Resort.
