HSBC Arena is Western New York’s premier sports and entertainment facility. Located on Buffalo’s waterfront, this state-of-the-art venue was designed with live entertainment in mind. Though primarily known as the home of the National Hockey League’s Buffalo Sabres, HSBC Arena also hosts the best concerts, ice shows, family and sporting events, entertaining audiences of all ages.
Since the grand opening on September 21, 1996, more than 10 million people have attended the wide variety of events held at HSBC Arena. This multi-purpose facility has attracted renowned musicians — including Bruce Springsteen, Dixie Chicks, Billy Joel, Metallica, and U2; family shows, such as Ringling Bros. Barnum & Bailey Circus, Disney on Ice, Stars on Ice; and other major events such as World Wrestling Entertainment, Monster Truck and Motorcross racing, the World’s Toughest Rodeo and the Harlem Globetrotters.
HSBC Arena is also home to the National Lacrosse League’s Buffalo Bandits, and has hosted national profile events such as the 1999 NHL Stanley Cup Finals, the 2000 and 2004 NCAA Division I Men’s Basketball Championship First and Second Rounds, the 2003 NCAA “Frozen Four” Division I Men’s Ice Hockey Championship and much more.
