The village Zicherie-Böckwitz was a normal German village until after WW2 when GDR was founded in 1949 when it was split apart.
Zicherie was in now West-Germany (FRG) and Böckwitz in East-Germany (GDR). 1961 the Iron Curtain was set between them to split them further.
It’s said that the residents of Böckwitz were moved to other cities but to disguise it GDR authorities placed timers to light up houses inside and the street just to show it’s all normal. Today all is normal again exept the stil visible scarvs of the border.
