The Fountain of Wealth at Suntec City in Singapore is the world’s largest fountain. It has a base area of 1683 sq metres and from this base area projects a huge 85-tonne (85,000kg) bronze frame resembling a tripod but with four legs. Water from the fountain shoots up to 30 metres high. Also, from the huge ring at the top of the structure, sprays of water sluice the fountain base. Whether you take in this sight from the basement of Suntec City where the fountain base is located or from the main road above where the Fountain of Wealth towers over, you can be sure it’s a sight to behold.
Three times every day, you get a chance to go up real close to the fountain when it is turned off – from 9am – 11am, 2.30pm – 6pm and 7pm – 7.45pm – just so that visitors to it can partake in a ritual, which is the walk round the fountain. It is said that walking round the fountain and touching its water brings good luck to the person carrying out the ritual. Try it next time you hop by Suntec City – it’s a spiritual experience you’ll never forget.
You can also make song and laser message dedications free of charge. The song dedication service is available from 7pm – 10pm every day while the laser message dedications, featuring multi-media laser shows on the 360º rotating water screen, are available on weekends and public holidays.
