Google Earth MMO is now open for public beta

GEMMO ScreenshotIt’s time for you to play! We’ve moved the game into public beta, so go download your copy of GEMMO and give it a shot.

Let us know what you think in our GEMMO forum, as the game is certainly not complete. Our first job will be to stamp out any bugs that come up, then add more enemies/cities/weapons/spells, then start working on new features. Your input is very helpful, so feel free to speak up.

Before you play, you might want to read our brief “How to Play” thread. It should give you a good idea of how to get things done in the game. Have fun!

  1. Thank you for this website/blog, I’ve been looking for a Google Earth site like this for ages.

While my own website is just a few weeks old, Google Earth and KML’s are usually what I write about.

I’ll be checking this blog often.

  2. Awesomeness…I’ve been talking to friends about how I thought Google earth would be great for an MMORPG base.
the landscapes are already there and I’m sure they could be manipulated. But the really cool thing is that, literally, everyone on the planet could play a toon on one server (if bandwidth and population would allow). Guilds could create their own towns, cites and kingdoms and travel across seas and terrains in real-time.

Epic one-time-raid-quests could be created with bountiful treasures for all who would be eligilble, or that the leader/king desired.

Whole countries could go to war for land, treasure and resources. Many different types of MMO’s could be created for GE. And for Sci-Fi, well, wait until we get Google-Planets.
